Growth in Rigs Continues to Outpace Frac Crews

Since the beginning of the year operators have added 32 frac crews and 116 rigs in the gulf. About 2.5 rigs are needed for each frac crew to maintain DUC inventory. Recent growth in DUCs has stagnated as rig additions in the Permian are steady since mid April, while frac crews continue moderate growth, mostly in West -TX and Eagle Ford. Tepid frac crew additions point to continued supply chain and labor issues for operators.
